“Yes” (Young Envoys Scholarship) Project Introduction

In November 2023, the presidents of China and the U.S. successfully met in San Francisco, forming a forward-looking San Francisco Vision. Both sides agreed to strengthen exchanges and interactions between the youth of the two countries to enhance mutual understanding. In response to this initiative and to strengthen Sino-foreign humanistic exchanges, our university will organize multiple batches of diverse and colorful exchange and study tours from 2024 to 2028. This will build an exchange platform for Chinese and American youth, as well as Chinese and European youth, creating a bridge of friendship and promoting cultural integration between China and foreign countries.

I. Participants

1. Youth aged 13 years and above from the United States and Europe;

2. High school and college students, as well as young scholars attending public or private schools;

3. Minor students must be accompanied by a guardian, with a guardian-to-student ratio of 1:5 to 1:10, preferably under 65 years old;

4. Group members must consist of 10 individuals or more;

5. Participants must be physically and mentally healthy and suitable for international travel.

II. Related Expenses

1. All activity fees, accommodation fees, meal fees, and transportation fees within China during the project period will be borne by Tianjin University of Commerce;

2. International travel expenses, visa fees, and insurance fees will be borne by the participants themselves.

We invite eligible international friends to come to China for exchanges. Those interested in participating should fill out the Application Form for the “YES” Project (attached as Annex 1) to sign up.

Selected Highlights of Past Activities

In July 2024, our university invited 31 teachers and students from 15 schools, colleges, and universities in Florida and Illinois, USA, to come to China for exchange and study tours. During the activity, participants tasted the unique cuisine of Beijing and Tianjin; experienced traditional Chinese cultures such as martial arts, calligraphy, and painting; visited famous historical and cultural sites in China such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven; and learned about the production of Tianjin’s traditional pastry, “GuiFaxiang Eighteenth Street Twisted Sesame Seeds Candy.”

Introduction to Tianjin University of Commerce

Founded in 1980, Tianjin University of Commerce is located in Beichen District, Tianjin, with a campus area of nearly 1,400 acres. The university has over 23,000 students and more than 1,500 faculty and staff. It comprises 14 colleges and 3 teaching departments, offering 60 undergraduate programs and 23 master’s degree authorization points. The university focuses on discipline development, with 7 academic disciplines including economics, management, engineering, law, literature, science, and art supporting and developing in coordination.

The university adheres to the educational philosophy of “Cultivating commercial talents for the current era and teaching practical skills and knowledge,” centering on the construction of a high-quality business education system. It vigorously cultivates composite, applied, innovative, and entrepreneurial talents with a high sense of social responsibility and profound business literacy. This provides diverse learning and exchange opportunities for Chinese and foreign teachers and students, thereby enhancing mutual cultural understanding.

2023年11月，中美元首在旧金山成功会晤，形成了面向未来的旧金山愿景。双方一致同意加强两国青少年交流交往，增进彼此了解。为响应这一倡议，加强中外人文交流，我校将在“2024-2028年”组织多批次丰富多彩的交流研学活动，为中美、中欧青少年搭建交流平台，架起友谊桥梁，促进中外文化交融。

一、参加人员

1. 美国、欧洲13周岁以上青少年；

2. 公立或私立学校就读的大中学生和青年学者；

3. 未成年学生须配备同行监护人，同行监护人与学生比例为1:5至1:10，原则上65 周岁以下;

4. 团组成员需10人（含）以上；

5. 参与项目人员需身心健康，适合国际旅行。

二、有关费用

1. 项目活动期间的各项活动费、住宿费、餐费以及在中国境内的交通费由天津商业大学负担；

2. 国际旅费、签证费、保险费自理。
